These members of the Kebort’s Karate Tigers at the Jamestown YMCA captured awards at the recent Champion of the Sword Tournament in Albion, Pa. Pictured, from left, are: chief instructor Kyoshi Christina Kebort, Sensei Malahki Schroder, Ayaan Garg and Sensei Kathleen Morrison. Kebort received a respect apology sword; Schroder placed fourth in 12-and-under co-ed Blackbelt Self-Defense, sixth in 12-and-under co-ed Blackbelt Weapons, eighth in 12-and-under Blackbelt Kata and fifth in 12-and-under Blackbelt Boys Sparring; Garg placed second in 9-year-old all Kyu belts Self-Defense and 9-10-year-old Novice co-ed Kata, and was also earned an honorary promotion to Bluebelt; and Morrison placed second in Adult Blackbelt 35-54-year-old co-ed Self-Defense.
