Craig E. Swanson

Craig E. Swanson, 26, of 22 Prospect Street, Frewsburg, died at 6:24 a.m. Saturday (September 28, 1991), following an automobile accident in the Town of Carroll.

He was born June 10, 1965, in Jamestown, a son of Bruce C. and Torie Derby Swanson of Frewsburg.

Swanson was a 1983 graduate of Frewsburg High School, where he was active in baseball, football and basketball. He graduated in 1987 from Canisius College where he played on the baseball team. He played for several softball teams and on several all-star baseball teams in Western New York.

Swanson had been employed at Chase Lincoln First Bank at the main office as a financial analyst. He was a member of Westfield Moose and a social member of the Samuel Derby American Legion Post 556.

He was to be married to Molly Clark of Jamestown.

Surviving, besides his parents, are his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William McArthur of Frewsburg; and his paternal grandmother, Gladys Swanson of Russell, PA.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harold Swanson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Frewsburg Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Knauff, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Peterson Funeral Home, 12 Pearl Street, Frewsburg.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund for Children of Terry Ristau and Harry Nelson, Mothers' Day 1989 Lightning Victims or Memorials of Swanson Scholarship Fund, c/o Peterson Funeral Home, 12 Pearl Street, Frewsburg, NY 14738.
