In this June 1992 photo, John Lynch of the Erie Sailors delivers the first pitch in the history of the Florida Marlins organization to Jamestown leadoff hitter Kevin Northrup at Ainsworth Field in Erie, Pa. Lynch, a second-round draft pick from Stanford University, later made a name for himself as an All-Pro safety in the National Football League and was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame last weekend.
