GENEVA, Ohio — Judy Young and Karen Williams represented the Jamestown Master Swim Team at the Allegheny Mountain YMCA Master Swimming Association championships earlier this month.

There were 10 teams in the Division III Women’s category and Jamestown took first place. Young took first places in all seven of her races and Williams took first in two races, a second, and four third places to beat out the second-place team by one point.

The Jamestown team has 13 swimmers. Young has been on the team since 1987 and Williams joined in 2010.

The AMYMSA season begins in September and concludes in April. Swimmers must be at least 18 and be able to swim one length of the pool. The league encourages swimmers of all skill levels to participate. For more information about the Jamestown team contact Williams, at karenshawwilliams@gmail.com
