Nichols Honored

Recently named the NWCA National Coach of the Year in addition to his NWCA Hall of Fame induction at the NWCA annual awards banquet, Ithaca head wrestling coach Marty Nichols, left, took home another award when he was named the NWCA Coach of the Year for his team’s performance at the conference championships. Nichols, a 1986 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School, guided the Bombers to a third-place finish in the team standings, the highest finish for Ithaca in his 22-year tenure. Nichols guided five wrestlers to All-America honors, the program’s most since it also secured five during the 2012 national championships.
