Tom Priester has built himself quite an athletic resume through the years.

He’s about to add to it next week.

Already an inductee of the Chautauqua Sports, North East (Pennsylvania) High School and Section VI halls of fame, the West Ellicott resident will be one of five individuals and a team to be inducted into the Slippery Rock University Soccer Ring of Honor.

The ceremony, which will be held at the Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference Center, will take place next Friday.

Joining Priester, a 1962 Slippery Rock graduate, in the Ring of Honor will be Tobias Bowser, Blair Gantz, Juliana Mione, Anthony Paganie and the 1974 men’s soccer team.

Before he retired, Priester was a physical education teacher at Southwestern Central School where he served as varsity track coach for eight years and cross country coach for 45. A USA Track & Field official, Priester has worked meets — high school to international competitions — since 1985.

The additional financial assistance of the community is critical to the success of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.
We gratefully acknowledge these individuals and organizations for their generous support.
