A Good Cause

Maceo Wofford poured in 35 points, including a pair of free throws in the final seconds, to send Red to a 78-76 victory over Black in a Jamestown High School alumni basketball game Saturday night at McElrath Gymnasium.
James Rojas added 21 points for the winners, who trailed by double figures in the first half, but narrowed the gap by halftime and then made enough plays down the stretch to hang on for the win.
Leading the way for Black was Sean Paige, who scored 22 of his 24 points in the first half when he drilled six 3-pointers. Elijah Rojas added 13 points, and Jaral Farmer and Andre Maple both had 12.
Proceeds from the #IntegrityFirst-sponsored event, totaling $3,176, went to the family of Hunter Johnson. Hunter, a JHS student, is undergoing cancer treatment in Georgia.
The additional financial assistance of the community is critical to the success of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.
We gratefully acknowledge these individuals and organizations for their generous support.
